Climate Change and Oceans

As you just saw in the last lecture, climate change is having large effects on our oceans. Here's a little recap on those effects:

  • Increased temperatures result in melting of sea ice, glaciers and ice sheets that provide crucial habitats to many species.
  • Sea levels are rising, which is putting coastal and island communities at risk.
